Thin Brick

Hi friends! It’s been way too long since I’ve got on the ol’ blog and shared with you! Life has been full and busy this summer. We’ve been adjusting to a family of 5, we’ve snuck in a couple of trips, we’ve taken the kids to the museum, trampoline park, drive-in movie, a taco festival, bike races, water park, and zoo this summer! WOAH! So you under stand why I haven’t been writing blog posts! With school starting back this month, I’m hoping to be able to have more time to devote to Montgofarmhouse.com. Here’s a small snap shot of our summer in a slideshow for ya!

But today, I’m excited to be showing YOU some new photos of my favorite feature in our home and some oldies that I love looking back on. Any guesses what that feature is??? I’ll give you a hint: it’s my most asked about home question that I get in my messages over on Instagram…

Our beautiful brick!! We used it throughout the interior of our home. I’ve done a blog pot before on all the places we’ve used it and you can find that here. But today, I’m focusing on the specific kind of brick that we uses. It’s a special kind of brick called “Thin Brick.” Its REAL brick which means that it has all the beautiful texture and variants that brick has. The only difference is that it is much thinner and way less heavy. This makes it an excellent brick to use for things like our interior brick arch, DIY projects, flooring, back splashes, and so much more.

Thin Brick comes in a wide variety of shapes and colors. The color we used is called “Alamo.”
They have a color for every decor style and look! Here are some of my favorites.

Berkshire

Cotswold

Greenwich

The Brick Industry website has a wealth of information on Thin Brick including where to buy. They even have videos of some DIY projects using Thin Brick. We didn’t install our brick during our build, but after checking out these videos, I can see how easy it would be to install Thin Brick yourself!

Below are some more photos of our Thin Brick, including a close up. We have been so happy with our choice to use it in our home. It has held up amazing and we have had zero issues with it. I would highly recommend checking it our for your home renovation, new build, or projects! It adds so much warmth, texture, and character to our home. Let me know if you have any questions!
