Neutral Nursery

When planning for baby number 2’s nursery, I knew I wanted it be neutral, calming, and serene. I got hung up on the ivory and cream theme. I fell in love with this tan, ivory, and gray rug so thats when I realized mixing in some gray was really pretty too!

When we moved in and set up the nursery, It was lovely! But it was missing texture and warmth. So I started dreaming up an accent wall for behind the crib. I started where I always start for inspiration… Pinterest! I was drawn to the walls that mixed wood with wallpaper. Once I decided to go this route, I found Livette’s Wallpaper that offers unique patterns that you can’t find anywhere else.

Not only was I impressed with the variety of patterns, I was also very intrigued by the self adhesive panels. I had heard horror stories from friends who installed messy traditional wallpaper and this was something I did not want to tackle. I reached out to Livette’s and they were so kind to partner with me for this beautiful Grey Herringbone wallpaper on this project. Their customer service team was great at helping me measure for this half wall. The panels came in cut to length so I had just what I needed.

The Livette’s Wallpaper installation was so easy and simple. I installed it all by myself in about an hour! You can check it out in the video below!

Once the wallpaper was up, I sweet talked my husband into adding in the faux board and batten bottom. I say “faux” because there isn’t any batten, we just used the actual wall to give the look of real board and batten. We watched a few youtube tutorials on how to install this, but ultimately Skot just winged it. Thats how he rolls. So I don’t have a step by step guide on this part of the project, However there are plenty of resources on the ol’ internet for you.

I am over the moon in love with how his accent wall turned out! It adds just the right amount of texture to warm up his neutral nursery. I still admire this wall almost every night when I’m reading him books before bed. Even though he can’t tell me, I know Smith loves the new addition to his room as well!
